Member Get Member (MGM) is one of Networking Business. In this business, you must get new signup or customer under your references to get pay. And you get pay only one time. You never get pay if your referalls get new member.

It is not only for membership, sometimes hat also to buy product or services. Like affiliation, or reseller. I Would prefer to say that these two type of business is include in MGM. Because, our comition by refering people only pay for one time and not include if our referall get new signup.

So, as I learn, today it is seem to me that MGM is actually not a Network Business for the members. It is Networking for the company who apply this system. Whenever there are new signups from any of it's members, the company sure have it's pay for its products or sevices, while the only member who get paid is the one who refer the products/services to that new customer.

That is MGM in my opinion...

First time I know about network marketing business is two years ago, in March 2006. I was joined with one of the biggest Multi Level Marketing in Indonesia by that time. The products is ok, the system is ok. They mention that there are no need to have selling target each month, but still I must buy at least two type of their products every month beside recruiting new customer if I want to step to next level, while my commision was not even close enough to buy their products again and again each month. I think that I can’t do that anymore so I quit eigth month later. But I wasn’t giving up. I learn from it. Those peoples in MLM industry has spirits of enterpreneurship and leadership. Always focus on target. Not easy to give up. I try to take that lesson.

In early 2008, my old friend come to me and introduce me with another MLM Company. But, they do not want to call their system as MLM just because they doesn’t have stockists as other MLM companies does. I join them, because I saw the products is more varies then the other one. At first time, I think that their system is more simple. But, when I read once more and carefully this time, I found that it is not as simple as it look. Imagine, to achieve certain position, we have to accomplish with a spesific qualification that we must achieve at certain times, like we need to reach it six times and three times of them must be in a row, in one year business periode. Reading that statement, to me it is equal to reach certain point or selling target in one year. If I only reach one or two times of the qualification, or maybe I have reach for six times, but there are never in a row for three months or just two months of those six times in that one year periode then I am not qualified to go to next level. And after that one year periode, then my status will be reset, so I need to start it once again. Don’t I? or let’s say that I can reach the qualification but can I duplicate it to my groups? Because Network is about duplicating. Not everybody has the same ability, although we are bless with the same opportunity. So I decide not to continuing it, and never again went to their seminars. But, still I believe that Networking is a great way to success…

So I never stop searching and learning more and more about networking. Soon I know from internet that Networking is not only about MLM. What I learn next is that to me Network Marketing can be devide into six categories. They are Member Get Member (including Affiliates Marketing), Multi Level Marketing, Viral Marketing, Piramide Schemes, Money Games, and Combination of Affiliate – MLM. For me, all have their positive (good) and negative (bad) sides.
And today, I have sign up with one that I think is really fit with me, at least until now… I hope this is my way to success… And this time is not MLM, but still a Network Marketing Industry.
Next times I will share about each of those categories, as far as I understand about them.

When you heard the word “Business”, what would you think in your mind? Job? Work? Buy and Sell? Money? Spend? Cost? Demand? Supply? Need?

“Business is about all activities and institutions that produce and/or provide, distributes and consumes necessary things and services that we need in our daily life” (Translated from Pengantar Bisnis, Jatmiko,RD,UMM Press 2004, Malang, page : 2).

If you read the phrase above once again, you will realize that everything is about business, aren’t they? Think about this:

When you use your phone or internet you sure need money to pay the connection, aren’t you? If you want to go to some place, work maybe, you need transport. Whether it is a cab or your own car, you need money to pay the cab or to buy gas, rigth? You store your money in a bank, you got interest every month but you also need to pay for their sevices every month or so we call administration fee. You also sometimes take loan from a bank, you got money but you have to pay back everymonth to the bank along with the interest added. You buy books, newspapers, magazines. You buy something you need in supermarket, store or something as simple as coffee from your neighbor’s stall.

Government providing us with many public services, such as water supply, electricity, road, public phone, public hospital, and many others services. But, that all is not for free. Water supply, electricity, road are some that we pay in taxes. To use public phone we need coins, and certainly you have to pay medicine and services in hospital even if it is a govement/public hospital. I don’t know about your country, but here in Indonesia we do pay for public hospital’s services.

That’s all business. Involving activities in producing, providing, distributing, and consuming necessary and spesifics things we needed.

So, whether you are a real businessman/businesswoman or just simply a student or an unemployee, you do doing business in your daily life. Why don’t you be the one that provide something they need rather then only as a consumer?

I was about to give up. My business wasn’t run well. At that moment, my very best friend come to me, and he told me this:

“I have a story for you. Listen it, it migth be can help you. There are two different characteristics of people, but the same job, treasure hunters. They have same dreams, and they are about to go to the same place, same direction, the treasure land. They know that it is located somewhere in an island across the sea. Each of them have a map to the treasure. Then they build their own ship, each one of them. They cross the sea separately.”
“One month after, they arrive at the island. Just by the shore, the treasure hunter number 1, let’s call him A, suddenly burn and sink his ship. While the other one, B, did not. A said ‘I gonna find it no matter what!’.”

“Then what happen?”, I ask him.

“Then they get into the jungle. In the deep of the jungle, there are so many beasts, snakes, dangerous and unknown creatures. Yet, they keep moving. The deeper they got in the harder the obstacles. Until, there is something ahead that seem impossible for both of them to get through. By that moment B said ‘I can’t do this. Better get back.’, and so he is. A is also almost giving up, but he know that he can’t go back. His ship was already been sunk. He find no other choices, he must keep moving. After a while of struggling and thinking, he found the way. Suddenly, he find that he is already in the land of the gold, he found the treasure. He, the A, find it because he had made his choices to be total in his commitment in the first time he step his foot on the island by sinking his ship. And finally, he found that all those things he get through before wasn’t obstacles actually, simply it’s all the cost he must pay for. That shouldn’t get him down, that should be his power to achieve his goal.”

So, what does my friend try to tell to me? I wasn’t so understand yet until now. He was simply want to remind me about my commitment. My commintment in doing these. My dreams. You migth be have been read my previous post about The Dreams and after that. I was just write it without doing it. That’s my mistakes. Now I will try to do as what I wrote and I’m doing it rigth now.

Didn’t get it yet? Well, it’s all about your Commitment. That’s also a basic foundation we must have. My friend was actually ask me this question :
“How is your commitment level? Are you gonna be treasure hunter number 1 (A) or the other one (B)?”
Ask the same question for yourself…

I was watch a movie. Almost in the last part of the movie, that is tought me something. That scenes was so simple. 2 peoples doing a journey to machine city with a purpose to end the war. But in their journey they met with so many obstacles, clouds, tunder, storm are everywhere… the enemy is a head… but their purpose is some place in there.. They must get through the enemy. The enemy was too many,, they can’t beat them all. With the ship they flying, they decide to get through the enemy by overing them, to the sky… pass over the storm.. that’s when I realize that, over the dark clouds there are beautiful sky…, and so they at last arrive to place where they have to… But their goal wasn’t just to get there.. They need to meet the lord of the machine city to make purpose of peace between two world.

What the story want to tell us is that no matter how hard it is, there are always ways, in one or another we can achieve our goals if we do want it to be happen. Consistent, commitment, believe is a must…

As in doing business, one day, two days, two weeks, months maybe not enough to see the result… but someday, if we believe,, really truly deeply believe we will make it happen…

So keep figthing,, never give up…

Now that we have Dreams with very strong compelling reasons – the why must we need to get them – then let’s make our first step to success…
I’m not say this is gonna be easy – it’s not easy for me – but my mentor always support me, encourage me… This tips may help you to make your and my first step to success

• First of all, let’s spend some time to analyse what make us up to now haven’t yet achieve our goals. This will mean that we need to know what is our weakness so we can strengthen our strengths.
• I’m so sure every single of us have something that we call "Bad Habits". Let’s exchange it with the better ones. I think this is the most top very difficult one. Changing habits is not as easy as you flip your hands. Try to remind yourself not to do your bad habits anymore every single day, force your self, until you get used to it. One day, your bad habits will be such a history to you.
• To bring into reality of your dreams, first divide it into more specific step by step goals or objectives. You do need to have specific objectives toward your dreams. The more spesific the more better. Set the specific achievement, spesific orientation and specific time to achieve each one of your objective. That will make you much much more focus focus focus focus and focus.
• Do not waste energy in doing useless things that is not oriented to your goals. Make sure everything you do is based on what is your objectives. That’s will make you a little more closer to your dreams.
• Once again, get use to think and remind yourself about your dreams every single day. If you don’t you will forget as soon as you’ve planned them. This is really work. It’s like you pray everyday by remind yourself about them.
• Let’s Move Now is the important things to do… to get the 1.000.000 steps always begin with 1 single step… rigth here rigth now… don’t wait until tomorrow.

My last post was about “The Dream”. Have you found your dream yet. I’m sure you are. Now, what to do after?

Writing or picturing our dream is NOT ENOUGH. We need to protect it in case things aren’t went as well as what we want to. How? Here are my few tips:

1. Every single day, or second if you have to, remember your dream. Remembering what is your goal in doing somethings will strenghtened you whenever you got down. As my mentor said “FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS FOCUS”…
2. Have faith. Believe in your dreams, believe in what you doing to achieve it as soon as possible. Do not ever doubth about it, couse when you do 99.9% you gonna fail.
3. Give time limit to each of your wishes or dreams. I’m sure you have more then one dreams. Divide them into three periodes. Your shor-term, medium-term and long-term goals. Short-term is less then one year. This will be the things that you think is not so hard to achieve, but sometimes it could be the first most important step before the next step. Medium-term will be about 1 to 5 years to achieve. Your long-terms is your most wanted. The biggest one. You may give time over 5 years. But still, we need to give a limit, such as 10 years.
4. Pray……… You can do your best, you may give your all effort to realizing your dreams, but it will be nothing and useless if you not pray to God. At least one time a day… Say your thankfulnes…

Try to do so, I believe you gonna make your dreams come true one at a time.
I believe so, I’m trying to do so and now I learn to get used to it…
